In Amsterdam at the week end, in a bar there were six people across from me.They were posed like figures in a Rembrant painting. I asked their permission to take photos and did this sketch from the photos. I hope to work it up into a painting

Got my big head vase(it was a jug till the handle fell off)out of the kiln. I put some lilies in it , creepy!

Well art goes on even when term ends, though I have slowed down a good bit. Went into college to try and master throwing , well i I finally managed to get the lump of clay centered, not once but consistently. I've learnt in art that its a great achievement to be able to reach a standard consistently. in painting it's not so much that I'm a much better painter than I was 10 years ago, it's more that what I see in my minds eye to ends up on the canvas that used to happen in one in 10 paintings, now it's most times. Thats what I want to be able to do in ceramics and for that what is needed is lots of PRACTICE, learning to center the clay is a start. I threw this jug today , its a bit clunky but a start

Nearly ready for assessment this is my table. my big canniball plate and head jug didn't get fired afterall so it looks a bit daft now with swirls of unfired glaze on it and I guess thats about it for the year , bye
