Painting en plein air

Today I went to the University of Limerick campus with Jim Furlong and Frank Rafter to paint out doors. The weather forcast promised sun between 10 and 2 and sure enough the rain started as we were leaving. We all enjoyed it and learned something. I painted Frank and Jim painting, echos of Monet and Manet at Argenteuil I've used process colours, cyan, magnenta and yellow in the past few days. The unmixed colours look nasty but they mix beautifully predictable and don't get mucky. These paintings are done with just 3 colours We also had a look the national self portrait collection in the foundation building. it was excellent, anyone want my self portrait!!
