third big plate

I nmade a new big plate today. It's nice and colourfull. I've been been thinking about art and decoaation. Art that says something is seen as superior to something that just looks nice . I think thats daft and is a due to artists insecurity, a worry that as artists we must be important and relavent and have something important to say . The gift that artists have is visual lntellagence, this is what puts us appart from the general population its not our insight into sociial problems, and while it,s fine for us to use our art to look at all sorts of things if what we do isn't visually stimulating I think were not playing to our strengths. Grayson pery does vases in an old style what makes them new and "ART" is the content of the decoration , a lot of penis's but why are penis's art and humming birds decoration? if its just their shock value, that will soon fade . In fact because Perry is a good artist and the vases very beautiful and would be just as good art with humming birds and I think it would be a sign of confidence in himself if he realiosed he could stop trying to shock and he would be just as good
