I want to use materials of very diffrent textures , wood (or glass if it could be cut ) for the boat frames ,teracotta figures and textiles for the sea and sky. I went to a lecture on textiles yesterday and was very impressed how their colour and texture could be used 3 dimensionaly .
I also want the whole thing to look a little toy like , this and the use of homley materials ( wood ,textiles and china) , is to make the whole thing look more unsetteling
The skulls topping the boat frames are based on "dead eyes" which were used for hundreds of years as part of the rigging in sailing ships
now im going to sit up and watch the U S election , hope Obama wins !
